They’re all part of Apex’s Grand Soirée, an Art Deco-themed arcade event arriving on the 14th of January that boasts fancy new skins, rotating Limited-Time Arcade modes, and even a return to the Kings Canyon map. These limited-time modes will rotate every two days, so if there’s a certain mode you’re looking forward to playing, you’ll only be able to play it on those specific days - which I’ve handily listed for all you lovely readers below (it’s also worth noting that you get a special badge for participating in each mode):...

Bastion and Torbjorn’s return comes as some players in the Overwatch 2 community were starting to really miss them, particularly behatted robot and friend to birds Bastion. As I noted earlier this week, people had begun to post spoof missing persons reports for Bastion, and even wrote melancholy ditties apologising in case they’d offended him. I’d like to think these players will be very happy to see the robotic damage hero bounce back into the game on October 25th, and become lifelong Bastion mains....

Update 3.1 is live now and is the fourth and final Battlefield 2042 update of the year. Unlike the last couple of patches, this one isn’t quite so rammed with major fixes and tweaks. However, it’s still home to improvements and changes that should make the field of battle a smidge smoother. Think of it as a final sweep of the broom, just ignoring the many other rooms that need a tidy....

But you will like how that looks, because BeamNG.drive’s simulation of crashing cars is a consistently joyous spectacle, and has been for the nearly five years it’s been pootling around in Early Access. Still primarily a toy box bolted on to a technical demonstration of a physics engine, it’s been enjoying a slow drip feed of new vehicles and tracks on which to drive them, more robust mod support, fresh campaigns and a couple of new game modes slipped into the main screen....

That’s lovely, that. The toy look is very cute. I like your disembodied god hand (please don’t confuse it with your God Hand, not in this fragile little town) interacting with the world, and its little animations, and especially when it walks amongst the people on two fingertips. In this sandbox world, we’ll find out what happens to the town and its residents as we change the weather, and do tasks for people, and mess with people, and find and collect things, and play about....
