How to level up fast in Diablo Immortal
Here are our top tips for leveling up faster in Diablo Immortal: Below we’ll go over each of these tips in more detail so you can reach level 60 in no time.
Don’t fully clear zones
This tip will be obvious to ARPG veterans but is important for new players. You don’t need to kill every monster in every zone and are really only slowing yourself down if you do. While you’ll need to defeat all enemies in dungeons and certain quest areas, this is not at all necessary in overworld zones. You can simply run from point A to point B killing whatever monsters you find on the main path and still stay comfortably on the XP curve. Doing this will give you more than enough experience to keep from falling behind the recommended level for the story, as you earn far more XP from completing quests than killing mobs.
Group up monsters before fighting
Taking the previous tip a step further, try to kite mobs into groups before fighting them. Even if you’re sticking to the main path, you will be wasting time stopping to fight monsters two or three at a time. Wait until you have a few groups chasing you, then use your AoE abilities to quickly defeat them all. However, keep in mind that the number of monsters you can take on at a time depends on your class. Classes like Wizard and Barbarian that have excellent AoE will be able to take on more mobs at once than a Demon Hunter. Get a feel for what you can handle and don’t overdo it. Dying will slow you down more than inefficient mob fighting.
Don’t overspend on gear upgrades
In Diablo Immortal, you can upgrade rare and legendary gear at the blacksmith in any town. This is a great way to gain a huge power boost, as upgraded rare items will quickly outpace the gear score of magic items dropped from the same areas of the campaign. However, upgrades come at a cost of gold and materials, and you will eventually drop new gear that beats your upgraded rares. Thankfully, you can transfer upgrade ranks to new items within the same slot. So, if you drop a new item with a higher gear score or more desirable stats than your current, upgraded piece in the same slot, transfer the upgrade rank to the new item rather than wasting time and materials upgrading multiple weapons.
Run story dungeons in a group
During the Diablo Immortal campaign you will encounter several instanced Dungeons that can be completed alone, with an pre-made party, or in a matchmade party. These are new to the Diablo franchise, but will be familiar to MMO players. If you played Lost Ark in particular, your first instinct might be to complete these Dungeons solo to avoid any waiting around for party members. However, Diablo Immortal grants an XP bonus for completing these Dungeons in a group, and it doesn’t take noticeably longer than a solo run. Using matchmaking to fill your party for story Dungeons is well worth it.
How to farm XP and get past level gates: tips for leveling to 35 and beyond
The tips above will get you through the first chunk of Diablo Immortal’s campaign, but things take a turn shortly after you reach the Shassar Sea around level 30. When you complete the Shassar Sea quest line, your next quest objective will be to reach level 35 to unlock the Library of Zoltun Kule zone. However, the Shassar Sea quest will only bring you to around level 32-33. That means it’s time to stop questing and start grinding. Between levels 30 and 60 there are several of these “level gates” which will push you towards some of Diablo Immortal’s repeatable offerings. You have a few options for pushing through these gates. We’ll cover the best ways to get past level gates below.
Claim Battle Pass tiers once you reach a level gate
Free tiers of the Diablo Immortal Battle Pass are actually one of the best sources of XP in the game. However, there is a trick to optimizing your Battle Pass XP gains. The amount of XP you receive from Battle Pass rewards scales with your character level. So, it is actually more efficient to hold off on claiming Battle Points and Battle Pass rewards until you reach a level gate Of course, to earn those XP rewards you will need to progress your Battle Pass to higher tiers. Thankfully, the easiest way to do this is to complete activities that are already XP efficient in their own right. In the activities tab of your Battle Pass, you will see various activities that you can complete for daily Battle Point rewards. These include Rifts, Dungeons, and Bounties, which we will discuss next.
Complete up to eight Bounties per day
Bounties are busywork quests that will be familiar to MMO grinders. Typically, Bounties ask you to complete a dungeon or kill a large number of a specific type of monster. You can claim up to eight Bounties per day from the Bounty Boards in Westmarch or other towns and will earn Battle Points for completing all eight. However, Bounties can take a rather long time to complete. Shared-world zones mean you are competing with other players for monster kills, which really drags the process out. Unfortunately, there is no real way around this. You just have to grind it out. Thankfully, the actual XP rewards from Bounties are sizeable, making them one of the best ways to get through level gates despite the time required.
Farm repeatable Dungeons with a group
Repeating Dungeons you’ve cleared earlier in the story can grant daily Battle Point rewards, or progress towards bounty completions. Dungeons also provide a good amount of XP in their own right. If you have a couple of friends to play with and can clear Dungeons quickly, speedrunning Dungeon clears is a solid way to farm XP for level gates.
Farm Elder Rifts with a group
In addition to rewarding Legendary Gems (if you have the right Crests), Elder Rifts also reward a decent amount of XP on completion. Once you’ve burned through your daily and monthly supplies of Rare and Legendary Crests, you may consider running more Rifts for the XP and Fading Embers. However, you will need to clear them quickly to make Rift farming a more efficient leveling method than Bounty or Dungeon farming. If you have a group and can spawn the Rift Guardian fast though, Elder Rifts may be worth your time. Those are all our top tips for leveling fast in Diablo Immortal! There’s nothing wrong with taking your time, but if you want to get to the endgame faster these tips will be a big help.
